## Shayan mineral water

The mineral water pump room is in the centre of the village, a 5-minute walk from the estate, and is open to visitors. Two waters are supplied to it: Shaianska-242 and Shaianska-4. Both are carbonated and siliceous. The first is low-mineralised bicarbonate-sodium (3.06 g/l), the second medium-mineralised bicarbonate-calcium-sodium (5.2 g/l).

According to local accounts, Shayan's history as a resort begins in 1818.

The pump room is public. We make no claim that the estate itself holds separate rights to the water; this is confirmed on request. We make no medical claims about the water.

## Nearby thermal pools

The nearest thermal pools are in Velyatyno, 7 km away, about a 10-minute drive from Shayan. According to the estate, the water in Zakarpattia's open-air pools is 32–38°C, and the pools operate year-round, including in winter. Kosyno is 25 km away and Berehove 50 km.

In 2026 the 5-star Apartel Kosyno Family Resort opened near the Hungarian border. It is an example of how the region's thermal tourism attracts investment.

## What the village itself offers

Shayan is known for its mineral waters, clean air and mild Carpathian climate. Thermal springs, sanatoriums, a lake with pedal boats and a water park are nearby. More than seven cafes and restaurants are a 1–5 minute walk away, so meals at the estate are not included in the room rate.

Most demand comes from domestic tourism. There are also search queries from abroad: from Slovakia, Czechia and Hungary. Search demand is seasonal and peaks in summer; the estate's pool is open from late April to September or October. There are no official visitor statistics for Shayan, so we do not quote any.
